I became a financial advisor in 1986 and joined Stifel in 2008. I am passionate about helping people, and I consider myself fortunate to have a nearly 40-year career that affords me the opportunity to have a positive influence on my clients. As a financial advisor, I enjoy helping our clients adhere to our team’s core philosophy of the “Successful Investment Mindset.”
I have always believed that knowledge is an important factor of my success. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Finance from California State University, Long Beach. I hold the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. I also continue my education by taking financial courses, attending conferences, and reading articles and books related to my chosen profession. I hold Series 7, 8, 9 & 10, and 63 securities licenses, as well as life, health, and variable insurance licenses (including annuities).
In 2008, my team and I joined Stifel, where I also serve as Branch Manager. My leadership role has also been evident in my community activities. In 1991, I became a member of San Clemente Rotary Club, where I have served as president in 2018 and 2022, treasurer, and many other board positions. I also volunteer in several other groups in San Clemente.
My wife, Sandra, and I have lived in San Clemente for nearly 35 years and have three children, Crosby, Noah, and Cassidy. Most importantly, we are enjoying our new status as grandparents. I enjoy keeping very busy with my many interests; I am a part-time professional actor and enjoy studying acting, doing improv, singing, and ballroom dancing. I also enjoy gardening, hiking, cooking, movies, and live theater, and lastly, I love spending a lot of time with my friends, family, and clients.
I became a financial advisor early in life, and from that day forward, I have taken great pleasure in working closely with my clients to help them in their endeavor to create, manage, and mitigate risk to their wealth. Before entering the financial services industry, I graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Financial Management. Shortly after graduation, I moved to Chicago and worked for an investment company for three years. After enjoying a few years in my favorite city, I took the opportunity to move back to my hometown of San Clemente to become a financial advisor with Stifel.
Today, I have a strong passion for creating investment plans, conducting retirement sustainability analyses, and educating my clients on personal and behavioral finance. My favorite part of being a financial advisor is what I call the “retirement problem.” I get to help my clients address this “problem” every day, and it brings incredible fulfillment to my time in this business. I also attained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification in 2017.
Outside of the office, I’m involved with the local Rotary Club. Through several leadership positions and fundraising efforts, I’ve had a direct hand in helping my community. My most rewarding responsibility is chairing the scholarship committee, which began in 2017. Each year, we are honored to give significant scholarships to high school seniors that have inspired us and demonstrated perseverance.
In my personal time, I enjoy going to the beach, watching hockey (go, Ducks!), playing games, reading, visiting friends, volunteering, learning new things, and especially spending time with my growing family. My wife, Nicolette, and I got married in our hometown of San Clemente in 2018, and since then, we have welcomed two amazing daughters into the world.
